10 finalists selected in Miss Arkansas pageant

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - The 10 finalists in the 2008 Miss Arkansas pageant included singers, dancers and a fiddle player.

The finalists were:

Miss Spirit of Arkansas Ashlen Batson, 21, of Newark, a flute and piccolo player and a preliminary evening gown and preliminary swimsuit winner. She attends the University of Central Arkansas.

Miss Lake Dardanelle Hannah Caldwell, 19, of Conway, a vocalist and newcomer evening gown winner. She attends the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Miss Little Rock Chelsey Cavin, 20, of Greenbrier, a vocalist and newcomer talent and newcomer swimsuit winner. She is a student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Miss Diamond Lakes Lindsey Chomiuk, 22, of Bentonville, a tap dancer and preliminary talent winner. She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and plans to study optometry at Northeastern Oklahoma State.

Miss Texarkana Page Daniel, 21, of De Queen, a tap dancer and newcomer swimsuit and newcomer evening gown winner. She attends the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Miss Ouachita Baptist University Lauren English, 20, of Hot Springs, a vocalist. She attends OBU.

Miss Northeast Arkansas Ashleigh Green, 23, of White Hall, a tap dancer and preliminary talent winner. She is a graduate of Arkansas State University.

Miss White River Chanley Painter, 24, of Conway, a fiddle player and preliminary talent winner and preliminary evening gown winner. She attends law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and also is in the master’s program at the Clinton School of Public Service.

Miss University of Central Arkansas Sarah Slocum, 22, of Sheridan, a vocalist and preliminary evening gown winner. She is a UCA graduate and is enrolled in the law school in Fayetteville.

Miss South Arkansas Allison Waldrip, 23, of Moro, a vocalist. She is a student at the University of Arkansas Law School in Fayetteville.
