According to police, Jones was found in his vehicle using a credit card to chop up a white substance. When officers approached Jones’ parked car and noticed this, they asked Jones to show his hands and one officer pulled a gun on him when he didn’t. Jones then got out of the car, along with two other men named Benjamin Cook and Jared Hicks.
A plastic bag filled with white powder was found on Jones’ floorboard, along with the card that had powder residue. Another bag of white powder was found near a rolled up paper, along with a black bag that contained a jar of marijuana, according to the police report.
Jones admitted that the white powder was cocaine to one of the officers, the report went on to say. Six grams of cocaine were positively tested on, with other tests pending. Jones was booked in the Washington County Detention Center at 4 a.m. this morning, pending a hearing.
Cook and Hicks were arrested on misdemeanor drug charges, while Jones is charged with a felony drug crime. It had already been suspected that the Jaguars had plans to release Jones, a decision which may be made a lot quicker with this incident.
