CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Indians have traded third baseman Casey Blake and cash to the Los Angeles Dodgers for two minor leaguers.
When the Indians recently traded pitcher CC Sabathia, Blake moved into his old locker in Cleveland’s clubhouse. Now, Blake is on the move.
He’s joining the Dodgers for the playoff push. L.A. general manager Ned Colletti calls Blake a “gamer” whose experience and character will be a big plus in the final two months of the regular season.
In the trade announced today, the Indians are getting catcher Carlos Santana and right-hander Jonathan Meloan.
